DES CIERTO

Photography

Des Cierto is a photo series taken in Cajamarquilla, an archaeological site on the edge of Lima. The ruins stand in the desert, partly swallowed by the growth of informal settlements. Life there follows its own rhythm, outside the pace of the city.

The site carries multiple faces at once: an ancient place of memory, a present-day settlement, and also a space reduced to a latrine and dump. These contradictions reveal how history, survival, and neglect overlap in the same territory.
